Biggie (David) Smithers has built deep experience and expertise working in fibreglass construction, design and repair, across all types of boards and wider products. He has also been working closely over the last few years with Armie from Armstrong Foils in the development of prototype designs and construction methods. Top kiters Bevan Gooch and Dave Edwards are a couple of the team riders.

The progression into custom fibreglass products arose in local architects seeking a high level of fibreglass manufacturing expertise along with problem solving skills to deliver a product with unique finish and form. The results have been extraordinary and the reputation has grown from there. This level of expertise is not easily replicated. Biggie understands well the specifications of all of the raw products and how to use them, providing high quality technical advice and product delivery.
Biggie continues his innovation with boards and other products, given his extensive experience and knowledge in working with fibreglass and getting on the waves. He developed what is now a global industry standard for sandwich lightweight construction windsurfer boards. The west coast of New Zealand continues to shape the way he makes his products. They are lightweight yet built to last.
